The monthly CPI indicator rose 3.0% in the 12 months to August. • The largest contributors to the annual movement were Housing (+4.5%), Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.0%), and Alcohol and tobacco (+6.0%). The monthly CPI indicator rose 3.0% in the 12 months to August, following a 2.8% rise in the 12 months to July. {table} The monthly CPI indicator excluding volatile items and holiday travel rose 3.4% in the 12 months to August following a 3.2% rise in the 12 months to July.
