Flash Consumer Confidence Indicator for the EU and Euro Area

In September 2025, DG ECFIN’s flash estimate1 of the consumer confidence indicator2 increased by 0.5 percentage points (pps) in the EU and 0.6 pps in the euro area. Now scoring at -14.3 (EU) and -14.9 (euro area) points, consumer confidence has remained on a broadly flat trend markedly below its historical average since April 2025. This month's Flash CCI for the EU aggregate is computed on the basis of consumer survey data from 26 EU countries (all except Spain), covering 90,9% (EU) and 89.3% (euro area) of total private final consumption expenditure.
