A few months ago, I wrote a post about US tariffs on China, which spiked to 150 percent in April before being cut substantially after Yuan devaluation spilled over into turbulence in the Treasury market. There’s been a huge amount of back and forth on tariffs since then, as countries lined up to negotiate trade agreements with the US. In today’s post, I use Census Bureau data on the dutiable value of imports by country and a calculated estimate for duties collected on those imports.
