India's JSW raises crude steel output by 17pc in August
Indian private-sector producer JSW Steel's crude steel production from its domestic operations rose by 17pc on the year to 2.21mn t in August. JSW's average capacity utilisation levels at Indian operations were at 94.3pc during August, compared to 87.4pc during the same month last year. Total crude steel production includes output from JSW Ispat Special Products, which merged with JSW Steel on 31 July. Steel production at the firm was lower during August 2022 owing to a 15pc export tax announced by the government during May-November 2022.
