Gold prices traded above $2,055/oz. in the first half of April, as investors were concerned about a recession, a weakening U.S. dollar, and falling inflation numbers. However, in the second half of the month, expectation of further rate hikes in the next FOMC meeting and economic uncertainties pulled gold prices in the opposite direction. Managed money net positions remained largely unchanged, and gold prices closed the month at $1,999.10/oz., up 0.65% from the previous month. Silver prices rose for a second consecutive month in April, closing $25.226/oz., up 4.43% MoM. This brought silver prices to one-year highs. ... (full story)
