Gold Gains; Silver Ends at 2-Month Low

Silver declined in the mid-week trading session on Wednesday, marking a two-month low, while gold, platinum and palladium advanced. Gold for February delivery rose $7.80, 0.4%, to settle at $1,784.30 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. "The key outside markets are in a daily bullish posture for the metals at mid-week, as the U.S. dollar index is a bit weaker and crude oil prices are up, but well down from their daily highs.
