Slow down in foreign trade: July 2019

After the strong growth of the previous month, Swiss foreign trade slid in July 2019 into negative territory. Despite the decline of 3.9 percent, exports recorded 19.6 billion Swiss francs, the second highest monthly result ever. Meanwhile, imports fell short of the 17 billion franc mark (- 1.7 percent). In both trading directions, Chemie-Pharma made a significant contribution to the overall result. The trade balance showed a surplus of 2.7 billion Swiss francs. (full story)
