Silver Lake cops fine for gold mine injury

Silver Lake Resources has been fined $58,000 over an incident at its Murchison gold operation near Cue five years ago that resulted in a worker being seriously injured. Boilermaker Jayden Robinson was conducting maintenance on a jaw crusher at the Tuckabianna processing plant on April 17, 2014, when a liner fell and caused multiple fractures. The liners, periodically replaced as part of regular maintenance, weigh between 1.8 and 2.3 tonnes.
