Gold stalls at three-week low as Fed’s signals on late-year policy awaited

Gold prices teetered in firmer territory early Tuesday after settling at their lowest level in just over three weeks, with stocks sticking to record territory. Gold for December delivery GCZ7, +0.02% was up 70 cents, or 0.1%, to $1,311.60 an ounce. The contract settled at $1,310.80 on Monday, the lowest finish since Aug. 25, according to FactSet data. With Monday’s decline, gold had fallen in five of six sessions. The SPDR Gold Shares ETF GLD, -0.93% was little changed premarket Tuesday.
