RBA to make interest rate decision as economists predict more mortgage pain

Mortgage holders are widely expected to be in for another round of financial pain with experts tipping interest rates to rise yet again. The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is holding its monthly meeting on Tuesday afternoon at 2.30pm AEST. But in a worrying sign, experts are now not only predicting a rate hike - they’re hoping for one. Former senior RBA employee, Peter Tulip, now chief economist at the Centre for Independent Studies, warned that Australia’s economy could become “untethered” if inflation wasn’t aggressively combatted through the Tuesday decision.
