Euro area international trade in goods deficit €1.5 bn

The first estimate for euro area exports of goods to the rest of the world in November 2021 was €225.1 billion, an increase of 14.4% compared with November 2020 (€196.7 bn). Imports from the rest of the world stood at €226.6 bn, a rise of 32.0% compared with November 2020 (€171.7 bn), a rise driven mainly by the increase in the value of energy imports. As a result, the euro area recorded a €1.5 bn deficit in trade in goods with the rest of the world in November 2021, compared with a surplus of €25 bn in November 2020.
