Euro area international trade in goods surplus €4.8 bn

The first estimate for euro area exports of goods to the rest of the world in August 2021 was €184.3 billion, an increase of 18.2% compared with August 2020 (€155.9 bn). Imports from the rest of the world stood at €179.5 bn, a rise of 26.6% compared with August 2020 (€141.8 bn). As a result, the euro area recorded a €4.8 bn surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in August 2021, compared with +€14.0 bn in August 2020.
