The Department of Statistics of South Africa (DSSA) announced today that the domestic mining production increased by 10.3% year-on-year in July 2021. According to the report, the largest positive contributors were iron ore (42.9% increase, contributing 3.9 percentage points); platinum group metals (10.3% increase, contributing 2.3 percentage points); chromium ore (45.8% increase, contributing 1.7 percentage points); and gold (13.4% increase, contributing 1.6 percentage points).
