After trading the micro for a few days I think I got to a conclusion regarding the title of this thread. First thing is that it does not compare to the E-mini. It is indeed( as I suspected) a lot more expensive to trade the micro and your fills are ...

Looks like the emicro broke all records for a CME product with a " unprecedented " close to 1.3M in 3 days. Hard to tell if it is real volume or the "professionals" smoothing things up behind the curtains. I doubt the CME will just let it float ...

Second day of the micros and it seems that CME came up with a interesting product. The spread is big compared to the minies but this was expected and will be the case till it gains popularity. Spread and commission will put the trader 1 point from ...

You are probably right. 1.40 was accounting for some extra stuff worst scenario. Definitely better than older micros but not as good as the minies. I know I'm not going to resist and trade there but the mini nasdaq will always be my darling !! ...

Basically you will need 3 ticks to be in profit. ( I'm looking at the MNQ) If you take the minies as a point of reference it is kind of bad. But considering you are obviously dealing in a less risky ( meaning losing less money) environment, it kind ...

Ripoffs like ninjatrader are charging 29 cents per trade so around 1.40 to get in and out of position Hummmm ?!?
- MarginCalled replied May 6, 2019
As far as I can tell CME is charging 32 cents per side........thats not bad.
- MarginCalled replied May 6, 2019
Hummmm........ 400 bucks to open an account and only 50 bucks for margin.....interesting!!! I would say the margin is for day trading not to keep anything overnight........

Thanks . FF is a "residual" still lingering from my Forex trading days, LOL ! I remember being there long time ago but completely forgot about it. Thanks for the tip, gonna check there more often.

So back to the original objective of this thread. The" Micros " are aimed to "budgeted" traders. Supposedly it will offer all the advantages Forex offer. So my question again. Will the CME micros kill spot Forex in America?

Nothing fancy, just some proprietary candle patterns I developed over the years. And for the record I don't consider myself a volatility trader ( what ever it means!!) But I do need the market to move in order to be able to make a living. If I would ...

I'm reading what you guys are saying and I still can't quite get how people are still trading Forex, apart from the fact that you can do it with little money. Well actually, to be perfectly honest, I do swing trade the beast ( actually the pair ...

LOL !!! Man I can feel your pain !! I lost tens of thousands of dollars ( hard earned money !!) between 2006/2007. But like I said before one has to pay for his education, right? It is not completely the MM fault because if you trade bigger time ...

I really hope you are right. I don't want anybody going through what I and many here had to go through with MM like Oanda and others playing their tricks. Well, untill the CME releases their price structure and people start to trade the micros and ...

Well in my opinion the Forex collapse of volatility refers to capital flux. My guess is because of regulations, crack downs etc on the banks, the capital just migrated from Forex to equities. Just like when things are bad in the developed world, ...

Thanks for pointing to the link Fool. I knew I saw it somewhere. With the minimum wage raising in some states (and soon nationally) on that short window before inflation catches up people will have some extra income. I guess the E-micro is aiming ...

I don't think so yonnie. Equities ( futures in my case ) can definitely give you volatility enough to make money on it. It is just a Forex issue. Forex does not move anymore. If you trade long term it may not matter much but for a day trader like me ...

Slippage will definitely be a problem until it gains more popularity. I moved to the mini nasdaq a few years ago when on a NFP friday the EUR/USD moved 20 pips !!! Things got a little better since that day but still spot forex is nothing like when I ...
