Probably because their inflation has come down a lot from its peak. There's nothing wrong with cutting some rates to see what happens. If inflation goes back up then they can just re-hike rates.

If i was them i would let UJ break 155, get all those massive shorts up there trapped on that breakout trade and then BOOM intervention. Image the carnage that would create for FX speculators that they so very hate.
