An update to an earlier post of mine. url Despite the fact that gold is more or less back to where it was in Jan, most gold investors remain sanguine, gold ETP holdings are only down 10% from 2016's peak, its the fast money thats fleeing gold and ...

These guys are puking hard now.
- Spec_And replied Nov 24, 2016
The price of gold is falling much faster than the reduction in ETF holdings, thats crazy bearish, its a sign that investors have yet to capitulate. So far they have only offloaded 100 tonnes, thats merely ~10% of what they bought this year, this ...

Printed 1073 today, time to close some shorts. Still bearish on this but a dead cat bounce is likely judging from today's price action.
- Spec_And replied Nov 6, 2015
Whoosh here we go again, this will tag 1074 and possibly go under it very soon.

I see range expansion and a possible bear flag breakdown off a 4 month consolidation on the weekly chart, this should hit fresh multi year lows if the breakout sticks. I think selling this now in the hope that it will be another large range bar day ...

This is sideways (coiling) at best, at least thats how it looks on the higher time frames. This is a pretty horrible product to trade now, its slow, grindy and vol is very low. Well I suppose the CTAs have given up on commodities...

My stop for this is 1176, not moving it higher for now. Target is 1270s at least.
- Spec_And replied Apr 3, 2015
Definitely gap higher, probably by 1%, not a chance it stays at yesterday's close.

"The other day", not today. url It was a long that I took from 1147, got out at 1172, prematurely.
- Spec_And replied Apr 1, 2015
I highly doubt gold is going to print new multi year lows anymore, if the massive spike in dollar index couldn't take down gold then nothing will. I got back in today at 1188, made a big mistake by bailing out too soon at 1172 the other day.

1217... painful to watch since I got out way too early, big mistake.
- Spec_And replied Mar 26, 2015
Dollar hasn't really moved much recently, so I think that is not very irrelevant now, gold has been largely flat in dollar terms even though the DXY has surged in recent months, in fact gold is up huge year-to date in EUR or Yen terms. Geopolitics ...

Geopolitics (Yemen) is driving this higher now, no wonder the grind up has been so relentless with nearly zero pullback.
- Spec_And replied Mar 24, 2015
Still grinding higher and has now broken out of the downtrend that started back in mid Jan. Got out too early, going to be near impossible to get back in.
- Spec_And replied Mar 18, 2015
Yeah the move tagged the down trend channel line @ 1.105 actually.
- Spec_And replied Mar 18, 2015
Dollar flash crashed vs the EUR today, looks like a lot of people got caught on the wrong side and are trying to exit a very small door.
- Spec_And replied Mar 18, 2015
Exited at 1172. +$25 on this trade. Got to thank the fed for this.

Hello how's everyone doing these days? Not too bad I hope. Anyway I just took a long at 1147 after a long hiatus from gold, SL is at 1130 (which would represent a new multi year low). I took a look at the most recent COT and it appears that large ...

39.4 is the last swing high so that should have been support but we went under that pretty quickly today, not sure what to make of this but I'm not convinced that this is going to print new 52 week lows since the structure of HHs and HLs are still ...
