US wholesale inventories up by 0.6% in April
Wholesale inventories in the United States increased by 0.6% in April compared to the revised March reading, reaching $940.3 billion, the Census Bureau said in its report published on Tuesday. Year-over-year, the figure was up by 3.6%. Sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, stood at $789.1 billion, climbing 2% on a monthly basis and surging 13.3% on an annual basis. The ratio between inventories and sales for merchant wholesalers was 1.19, compared to 1.30 registered in April 2025.
