German service sector enjoys encouraging start to 2025 as business activity growth hits six-month high
Germany's service sector made an encouraging start to 2025, recording stronger growth in business activity alongside a slight uptick in employment, according to the latest HCOB PMI® survey. Underlying demand remained subdued, as highlighted by a further - albeit slower – decrease in new business on the month, but firms nevertheless expressed greater optimism towards the outlook amid hopes of a post-election pickup in the economy and a boost from lower interest rates.
