Inflation rate at +2.5% in February 2024
The inflation rate in Germany, measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index (CPI), stood at +2.5% in February 2024. The inflation rate was +2.9% in January 2024, and +3.7% in December 2023. The last time inflation was lower than in February 2024 was in June 2021, when it stood at +2.4%. "The rate of inflation has continued to slow," says Ruth Brand, President of the Federal Statistical Office. She adds: "The price situation for energy products continues to ease.
