There was a time that the BBC reporting was trusted around the world as factual and impartial. For a long time now it tends to be Op-Ed that lends to whatever 'political' and 'social' opinions abound in that sect of the BBC at the time. The other news agencies aren't much better....

I do appreciate that FF IS for opinions (mine included) but in this case, due to a vacuum in factual, cross-examined, knowledge, this is a classic scenario for peeps keen to fill the void by hypothesising a prejudiced position and then go searching for any possible element of illusory 'fact' to substantiate it. Cast the net wide enough and someone somewhere may be near the truth but it's much more likely to be by chance than clever analysis.
I reckon I can think of a huge array of possibilities as to the perpetrators and their justifications. That doesn't make any of them close to the truth.
