  • Yellen speech confirms that the U.S. is back on the world stage

    From cnbc.com

Following four years of a decidedly protectionist agenda, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is here to tell you that things are about to change in a major way. The Cabinet official most in charge of President Joe Biden’s economic agenda set forth a bold set of principles Monday that differ from the previous administration’s priorities by about as much as one could imagine. Gone is former President Donald Trump’s saber-rattling against China. In its place is a policy that “will be competitive where it should be, collaborative where it can be” but only “adversarial where it must be.” Where Trump and his ... (full story)

This lady is bat-shit crazy. The US never had it so good as it did last year; this year so far has been a total disaster and she's doing exactly what Biden set out to do. Cancel all things Trump.

It's a clever strategy. Print money like a fruit cake then try to regain investor confidence in a big display of fiscal, socio and political responsibility.

Won't end well though. Many years of tit for tat coming up. The best we can hope for is a market crash in the next few months to clear the air to that we can actually make a fresh start.

I think all these narcissistic global leaders have blown their load to soon tbh. Powder is now very much damp with no where to go when yet foreseen black swans start appearing from every corner.

Is anything in reserve for (say) some geo-political confrontation? edit - nearly forgot - bailing out a handful of banks?

Not sure how focusing on diversity and climate change will do better than focusing on America First. We need to focus on getting the USD back on track and not printing money like crazy.

Is there anyone left on this site with any sanity or sense? I’m half convinced the entire internet is Russian and Chineese trolls confusing people.

Or maybe it’s real folks who all they read is junk/fake information aka misinformation, and then regurgitate it.

Yellen is one our best picks yet. Our infrastructure plan I hope is only the beginning of huge investments in America. We need this. We need money moving and exchanging hands between the working class with investments in strengthening the roots of our nation. The roots!

You can’t grow good crops with crap soil. The past 30 years have been almost exactly like trying to grow better grapes by watering the fruit itself. Not supporting the entire vine.

Why is this a controversy?
