Fed has to start considering the risk of a recession, former Fed Gov. Larry Meyer says
The Federal Reserve has to start factoring in the rising risks of a recession to its policy actions, former Fed governor Larry Meyer said in an interview with Marketwatch. “We’re at a point here where we’ve got to be thinking about a recession risk,” Meyer said. A recession is not in view yet, “but it jumps out,” when you look at the outlook, Meyer said. In his latest forecast, Meyer said he is forecasting a sharply decelerating growth path for the economy. “The economy is projected to be on a sharply decelerating growth path.
