at the 81-82 level we have a half decent PPZ (check weeklies) i would love a break down of this TL AND that PPZ then a retest with some PA...
this would be a classic if it happens imho. you know what they say bout the 4th touch of death!!??
a first...

looks like that PPZ held up the TL break. wonder for how long??

sos for the delay...
that was the area of the last swing low(2nd of may), that was an area where the last stack of bullish orders was placed and has a lot of history(check the weeklies (ZOOMED OUT!! hehe)
Then price blasted past it taking out most of the bulls and gatherd momentum as it broke down.Price also had trouble breaking that area on its way up and was later defended when that swing low happend, so this tells me its an important level.
there is no way to know if price will get there or not but that is the first major PPZ if it does continue to rise. it may get turned at a RN or some minor PPZ before then or by nothing in particular (chart wise) but if it does, that would be a nice place to look for a big pin bar, for e.g. btw it would be the 38% fib now also. Price is pretty over streched right now (i have it at about 325% of its ave. weekly range!)so i expect some ret. or cons.
So for me its simple... find the big PPZs and wait (and hope lol) that price gets there and gives us a nice trigger bar. i might take a short from a GOOD bar before then but if it reaches that level it would a A+ level to be trading from. imho

hope this helps

i think it is probably not a problem of not seeing the PPZ it is that they arent there to be seen!! zoom out and check prices history at these level.

ahha...my apologies

those lines u have drawn are ligit for me but remember this is an area we are talking about not a single price. On a weekly chart 100 pip areas are common.i have mine drawn in from bout 8570 to 8630 as that was the most recent area that supported price, and has since broke
i also took mine from the line chart (thanx Bundy for drumming that in me ) if you look at a line chart you can see the 85 RN seems to hang in space (stopping the spikes ) but price didnt close below the 86 on either drop. This is a show of strength. when it did break that level it always hesitated then broke with momentum showing the order stacks around that level. you can see this on the daily TF also.
like i said i would take a good bar also at 85 if thats what happens but i see the 86 zone the real or a stronger PPZ which would bring more people into play and make the trade that much easier.
line charts a great for this, i use them like a filter on the longer TF charts

i hope i got it right this time!?!?

prevent" perhaps?

i think that by default mt4 tries to open the image file with your windows (i gues that you are using windows) default program as soon as you save it, you just have to (like mike said) go to windows, right click the image file and select opens with, then a window appears showing all the programs that can open that kind of image, before you select the program that you want to automatically open your gif files tick the option, something like this:
gracias emilio, no lo ve la siempre optiona, hora lo tengo hermano.
thats my attempt at spanish over for today...hehe

cheers guys

I think Dan has a point. Most people would be better off without it, since they dont even know what it is, what it means or how to use it. Look at the number of people using an RSI(6) because they saw Ryan do it, and then 'spotting divergence' between bars 66 periods apart.

The less information for newbies to misinterpret, the better

I guess my point is that it is alot like PA. By itself, a pinbar is a terrible trade. We have all seen dozens of people...
yeah im with you, in a nutshell Joel, as always
people are pretty lazy and impatient (in general) and we wanna run before we know where we're runnin to...

i agree ,too small, the us/cad looks to an initial retest of the RN?? it might hold or not?? but i would personaly want a bigger bar, especialy on this TF after that a strong run up.Also we have a possible break out type situ if you look at the daily..??it looks to be stopped by the fib for now??
us/ch looks like the initial rejection of the RN, again who knows but i would want a MUCH bigger bar here after the run up or we could jus be selling into some concolodation. if not...oh well next..
jmo

jon

i just took the 4h continuation buob on the us /chf (demo) so we might be seeing a retest of this bar???

iv just taken this on demo to see what happens and remember it !not strictly a DBLHC more like a poss. tweezer bottom??
lets see what happens, i jus wanted to point out my thought process on these bars.
i would not take this on my real acount. i would have though if it had been a nice BUOB what gave us a new high of today.

I mean, we don't want price to reverse on us or even if it goes our direction, it may linger for days.
hi pinbar (like mike i cant believe your the first with that name!! lol)

these IBs are good continuation bars in my experience, i had my eye on this myself but havnt had much time for my charts for a week or two. they show the concolodation of price as you know and this can lead to a good breakout if the other confluencing factors are good also. once a desicion has been made by the market everyone can see it and the move often gathers momentum...

The concept of an inside bar is that the range has not only decreased(meaning consolidation on some level) but it decreased and remained within the prior range. If played at the right spot regardless of the shape of the IB they often "pop" however temporary as per J16

Best

be carefull here buddy, this is no way a wedge pattern. i doubt anyone is gonna see it as such. When playing these patterns i find it is best to play only the most obvious ones, then there is more chance everyone is seeing it (even if they dont trade it)

jon

EDIT: notice the words 'OUTLINE PRICE...'
this discription is foe a declining wedge

Indeed, as you say, the more obvious it is, the better.
That article mentions at least 5 touches of the upper and lower TL, the wedge I imagines, has only 3 at best.

I have to get this, if it doesn't jump out at me thing down!

Once again, appreciate the input.
glad to help,
heres one im watching atm small TF though. Also it comes after consolodation rather than a run up so it is not the best setup. i might take a decent bullish trigger bar from the lower border or the break north if it happens with some momentum. i like to play these with a 15 pip stop and all out at +30-45 (on these i ignore RN etc unless it is gonna break right into a strong PPZ)with a TSL of 15 pips. they are a good setup when they come as a genuine break in a trend. which this one isnt! lets see what happens

Very interesting though. Thank you very much.
yes,
pa works on all TFs but things move much faster obviously so the decisions need to be almost auto which is why longer tfs are recomended here at least untill we have a good grounding and understanding to work from. many people never move to lower TFs as it isnt nesesary to make money and it fits better into there life style. i know of a few peaple from this thread who almost print money from the 5 min TF and also others who make big bucks just from the dailies.
It boils down to your preference and personality. i do trade down to 15 mins but my preference would be a good daily bar or a good 4h bar as these carry more info and tend to be easier to trade.

cheers
