I suppose its how we define a large account, I know this is subjective for different people and I am assuming that we will be trading while still working a day job (daily/weekly). Are we talking 10k, 50k...

Learn to trade and the money will come, when I started out I lost about 40-50k because all I wanted was more money. Now I just want what the market wants and take the trades as I see them. The few ppl I showed the market and how I traded all said "I cant wait to get a Ferrari, new house, etc" or something of great value, all they wanted was the money. Even with me sitting with them on messanger telling them when to get in and out they still screwed up, it was always the it's coming back, or I thought I could get more out of it that screwed them. Then I would ask them who does this for a living and makes money and they had no answer, ego / emotion. Also learn your own deal as I did. I took the best of what works for ME and tied it all together into a setup that I like and that I can live with. My trading stew is J16 with a touch of Bill Williams and a side on BB / RSI.

My 2 cents

I think ppl miss this point. 3 pm's so far today about "I can't make money with your system" hell I did not even know I had a system it's just the way I trade.

No need to follow someone else and learn the in's / out's of it even though 90+% of the ppl who post lose money, that was rule #1. Rule #2 is even if someone CAN trade and make money it may not work well with how you work = timeframe. Think back I tried the 1hr 4hr daily and it was not for me, if I had too I could prob. make a little money but not much I cant sit that long, now give me a 5min 3min chart and It's my true love. Find the ***TIME*** that works for YOU and then a style you like to trade.

Good point Mike, I know that in the e-mini volume is good, in forex it sucks to use because you do not get the correct info it seems.

LOL, look at the trend! Why do you think it's going to start going up? Because you want it too? If you are going 60mph in a car and I jump out in front of it do you think it will stop because I want it too?

Not trying to be a ass here just look at what is going on with the chart. Want what the market wants, if it's going down put in a sell and go down with it. Don't care what it does just do whatever it's doing with it.

If you have a way you trade when you have a long run and you have no way to jump in you need to change the way you are trading. You should always have a way to get in on a strong trend, if not you are going to miss out on a lot of big moves.

I didn't like that intial break of this trade from the get go. The uptrend has been so strong that fighting...

Good trade and I still do CT trades, the key now is when I am playing with the trend I can SEE the CT trades setup so I know what everyone else is thinking lol. It's a damn nice edge and most of the time I just close out my position wait and see if the CT players get raped and if they do I get back in on a new low / high when all the CT trades are getting the stops ran

Anyways, I don't have much money for trading and 600 or whatever hte cost is would take a big chunk out of my fledgling bankroll.

edit: should i just start from the beginning...

If you are not lazy you can get it all from this thread and then some. The key for you is money > being lazy lol. If I could do it all over again and spend 100k to know what I know now I would do it in a heartbeat and save myself a few 1000 hours and 10's of thousands of $$$. You have to remember lots of people lose in this game 95% or better so if you try to follow someone you may be losing just like them. Find a time you like and something you have CONFIDENCE in and get good with it, don't look for a magic trade that is going to work 100% of the time, if you find a 50/50 you can make millions a year with good money management.

I use candles but people can use whatever. I use a line on close too a lot to get a clear direction on price.

So yea im going to start form the beginning but I think I'm going to screen out a lot of hte posts that aren't james16 or don't have graphs. Do you think this is skimming over the material too much or would this method work well to learning all the content in here?

I would read it all, I did a few years ago. What you have to watch out is people posting only winners after the fact, hell I can win the lotto everyday doing that too but it's not real. Get a feel if the person just likes to post trades or they do this to make money. Lots of people that post can not trade and then after they bomb out try to sell some system bullshit, if someone can trade why sell anything? It's like having a fat ass for a personal trainer or a broke financial advisor, if they can't do it how can they show someone else?

Find something that works for YOU, don't try to copy someone because what works for 1 person may not for someone else, I know I wasted a few years on that one Also find a time that works for you, if you do this fulltime like other trades I know most use the 3-5-15min stuff and daytrade. If that does not work use the 1h 4h daily stuff. I can not trade the daily 4hr stuff because I don't like to sit through the trades, I know what to do but I do not enjoy it.

Also this is a biggie, YOU ARE NOT SMARTER THEN THE MARKET, IF YOU CATCH A BOTTOM OR TOP YOU GOT LUCKY. Yes you can win a few and with good money management you can do okay playing a bottom / top picker when the market is sideways but what you dont see a lot of even in this thread is people going with the trend and ADDING into the position if it's winning.

Last thing, It takes time and some people NEVER can trade, they are just not wired for it and can master anything else just not the market.

p.s. the people that find trading the hardest are Teachers and engineers

It all depends on how you look at it, yes you are going to have more spike / noise bars but it's around news most of the time and I just stay out then. Demo is good but you will make your 1st million on demo, then wonder why you lose 90% with real money. The only difference is emotion, once money does not mean anything is when you start winning again.

Money = emotion, work on not thinking about money and it will make it easier. What if that trades was $2,000 a pip you think you would do the same?

I would use real money to be honest if you can, it does change the game.

The problem is the way they think, being a engineer you always have 1+2=3 over and over, the market is not like that the EXACT same trade can and will lose so it's screws them up, I know I am a Engineer as well and my mentor told me the market was going to kick my ass until I could stop thinking the way I was told, and also to stop thinking the market is some kind of beast that I have to battle with everyday. Now I think of the market as a furry bunny that drops pellets of gold LOL

Short 7 positions just close it all out, yes I do get whipped sometimes when it's sideways but starting with 2% risk for about about 25% gain is worth it. Or you can be smart and play with the 1 position and CT stuff

P.S. Sign up my to Rymacdaddy's billions of pips system! only 3k a seat, seating limitied to 150 and the 1st 50 people get a free stuffed bunny!

+divergence

-first minor trouble area quite near (30 pips)
-it's against a trend that is lasting 14 months
-didn't close above 3 prevous bars (on gmt+2 time frame, might still close above on gmt+1 or gmt time frame)

I'd say it's A setup for me for sure. Any thoughts?

LOL, so you think you can stop a train going 100mph right at you? Come on ppl that's why I stopped posting because I can't take seeing people just get hammered. Why not just get on the train and enjoy the ride?

Here is the daily, HOW CAN YOU LOSE? yellow line = buy/sell you can throw all the other BS out the window, you dont even need any fib's, cycles, EW counts, PB's, voodoo, or any other crap. Look at price and trade it.

That's about it, hell it was on a 5min chart and I changed it to a daily. ANY MA WILL WORK, this shit is not magic as I said. you can make it superhard if you want through up 100 different things and think your real smart and still be broke, or just use easy stuff that makes money. If you cant explan it to a 5 year old you have too much shit going on.

It's funny how everyone wants something so hard to make them money, if it's easy it can not work

Then again you can put all this stuff up and show how smart u are

One question for you though: Would you jump into the train which is going very fast against very very thick wall of bricks (1.5000) which this train was not able to break in more than 13 years??

What way is the current trend?

Not all of them are pins they are just bars, nothing special. When it's running the bands I do care what it looks like I just want to get in it, and it's the same crap I always did, in a trend buy/sell the pullbacks, if it's a pin good in not that's fine too.

You know, if you write to people " I trade because I like this bar" it's really non-saying ...

Bill Williams, is all I have EVER used forever and it works. J16 just showed me a few bars too look at really the rest is Bill's stuff. It's all simple trend stuff, and finding a low risk way to get into a trend on a pullback or if it's hammereing up/down.

lol thanks, I keep looking back because I did the same crap then when I got a mentor to walk me through 100s of trades and 1000s of emails and phone calls daily. It seems people keep looking for good deals but if they just get into the trend it works, you think big players and market makers CT the market? HELL NO they cant because the only people at the tops and bottoms are the retards the lose over and over aka the 95% that trade here and they don't have the $$$$$ to fill them.

Buy / sell the pullbacks of a trend and you will be wrong 1 time the top or bottom. Sell the "top" "bottom" and you will be correct 1 time and it will fill you EGO and make you feel good and you can tell everyone what a market wizzard you are, but when you goto sleep at night you will know that you got HAMMERED the 3-4-5-8 times before that 1 trade and still be going to work for someone tomorrow.

This is definitely a method I would never try. With that said, I'm thinking I should at least at one point actually take a look and try it. Who knows what I'll discover.

The key for me is to know what everyone the 95% is thinking when I get into a position. I can see when we get a move around support and watch people jump in, even though it's a CT trade but had some kind of support in their mind and they talked themselfs into how good of a trade it was so then they have to take it.

I do watch the 80/20 RSI a lot though because that is the end of a move in most cases, not to CT it but just to look to scale out some then build back in on the pullback.

Edit: Forgot to add the 150 ema confluence.

I would get long that trend is up, Also if you get good and you have the balls you could SAR and double down, I do that sometimes lol

So when is a good time for Vegas? You think we could round up some people? Would be kinda cool.

Now it just come down to time and practise my friend. A bar Close above that 1st blue line would have been a good confirmation that the trade may have some legs. Yet, the BUOB is still very much valid. Your going to learn alot from this one.

lol Ryan is not a big fan of countertrend...

If I traded that pair I would take that small red pin short and fade your long

If it's not too much trouble could you please give a brief explanation?

If I fade your trade I take the other side, if you go long I go short...

What Does Fade Mean?
1. A contrarian investment strategy used to trade against the prevailing trend. "Fading the market" is typically very high risk, requiring the trader to have a high risk tolerance. A fade trader would sell when a price is rising and buy when it's falling. Also known as "fading".

All I needed is a few shots of James "rants and charts" video. Man, that thing worth like 10,000$ + alone imo.
I know jarroo watches Jame16's videos again and again every few days/weeks. I can see it through his charts.
I do the same.

Man, it's around the 8 moth since I know what forex or trading is. I can't believe people are doing it for 30+ years and I can get all this experience at...

Most people are stupid and lazy that's why people that work at the market make money, it by "Work" at it it's not getting some bullshit system, or sitting in a class with a so-called "Pro". The ONLY class I sat was Bill Williams when he still used to teach it just to ask him questions and work on other things such as time.

Keep it easy because if it does not make you money you do not want it on your charts. Let the MIT engineers keep the 3 story computers and work on system, just keep on working on taking trades that work. You are at start 2 now of the 5 stages, next step is to work on getting emotion out of trading, that for me and everyone else I know was the hardest part of it. After that it's fun to trade and I enjoy it and would do it for free just to watch all the work I put in work over and over

I am very glad to see you doing well, keep it up and keep ego / emotion out of trading, I even took medation classes to learn how to relax better. Once you hit 4-5 stage of trading it will change the way you look at EVERYTHING not just the market, and I feel it will make you a better person as you will worry less about what others think / feel because you have learned to control your emotions and understand yourself.

I can summarize this in your own words..."an A+ setup is a momentum setup", or, "hard break". When you move your...

Once you get the emotion out of it a trade is just that, one trade. After taking 10k + trades I can be down 10-15k on the day and it does not matter because I have done this so much I know my money, just like the market, does not go up or down in a straight line.

Look at all the people that can papertrade just like posted here and make a ton of cash but once you add the VALUE of money it changes everything.

I know I keep pounding this away but it is what makes the difference from someone making a few 1,000 a month to making 50-100k a month, it's just bigger numbers.

P.S. When I trade I have ***0*** things that show me my account balance ever, I think that makes it easier if you see no value on the chart then you just trade them as you see them.

CT trading again? What happened on that last one Just take the trend trades it's so much easier and makes so much more money, if you are are going to CT it at least do it when the market is sideways at a extreme.

Ryan, what do you think helped you the most reaching this stage? Is it experience mainly? (successful experience = confidence).

Sometimes I have another psychological barrier which expressed by not being able to pull the trigger. Then after seeing price do exactly what I knew it will do, I think to...

Sept 11th 2001, I had about 11k in stocks. I was trading off a service that was $500 per stock pick. I had no idea what I was doing and I had 500 shares of ctxs. It was wall street stratagys I think. Anyway I bought the shares like the service said to do and it was working good so far, I was up a few 1000 so I was like great making money. Well then the plans crashed and I was STUCK in that trade, when it opened back up I was down about $7,000. Back then I was broke as hell so I just watched my not going out, eating everymeal at home for 6 months go down the drain and I had no control of what was going on because it was not my trade. After that I NEVER want to feel that way again no matter what so I had to take control because it sucked, I felt sick and I knew it was me who did it because I could not even trust myself and I knew it was time to change who had control.

I would say that set the stage for me having to gain control of what was going on, no matter if I won or lose I needed to have control of what I was doing and have a clue of what was going on. I never did blame them or the market because it was my dumbass that did it but I needed to figure it out and do it soon because it was so painfull to just get hammered over and over and have 0 control.

I tell you what also helps, if you can not pull the trigger it's 95% chance you had a losing trade and don't want to lose again, or you had a winner and you don't want to give that money back. This is why people use all these indicators and stuff so they have confidence in what they are doing, even if it helps or not. Having more stuff on the screen has to help right? After time a trade is just that 1 trade it's not a "hope I win trade" or "This looks like a winner trade" it's just A TRADE nothing else. If it wins great, if it's a loss great, if I get 1 good trade today sure no biggie, if I get 10 trades, same thing it's just part of it. I don't have goals for the day or week and I could give a shit about "pips" because all that bullshit is just ego. Who cares if you make 10 pips a day or why have a goal for 30 pips a day? Why not just trade what shows up, sometimes you get 10 pips others you get 60 pips, sometimes you lose 30 pips, it's just a number and thinking like that sets you upto fail because on the 60 pip days you take 10 and quit, on the -30 days you lose everytrade.

Last part of my rant If you skip trades deep down inside you do not have the confidence on what you are doing, if you did you would not skip it. Think about driving a car at 80mph with other cars around you going 80mph, that's a lot more risk then taking a dumb trade in the market

You just HAVE to get to a point when you have 0 guessing going on, for me I look at the chart say okay this looks good and take the trade and go back to playing xbox live if I get stopped who cares, if it goes my why who cares lol. I really do trade this way, If I had 10 million I would do it the same too as I have 0 care of what happens now.

One thing I will add is when I first started trading my mentor told me to goto a psychologist and let him run a bunch of things by you and see what time works for you, this is huge and if you read my stuff you know that I can not trade the longer stuff because I am ADHD as hell and can not sit still and have more energy then a 10 year old LOL. I used to post charts and trades but it does NOTHING to help me, all it does it tie you to that trade because it's like standing outside and yelling I AM A LOSER when you lose, but again most people dont post losses and that is why. Also you trade the way YOU trade, it may work for you and no one else so posting it will only skew the way YOU need to trade and the way that works for yourself. I can post a chart and some will say "looks good" others will say "I would not take it" so then it just adds more confusion.

What I would do is find a style that works for you and a time that works for you and build on that. Find bars / indicators / traders that work with yourself. It's like Mike and I, he trades the long term stuff and knows I suck wtih it, I even tried some stuff he was doing and it worked but I hated it and I don't want to hate what I am doing when a different style works better and I look forward too it.

So to sum it up I can see 0000 benifit to posting charts unless you just want to get a mixed bag or to see if they bar form fits a standard, as far as taking the trade and asking should you or should you not well that is upto you and should ALWAYS be upto you unless you want to blame someone else for your loss

One risk I plainly see is that there is a gazillion of "old wisdoms" and explanatory mind-models, behavior-models and whatnot and an endless slew of tips, tricks and explanations.

Great.
Now I know...

Now you see why I only stay a few weeks at a time here and then gone for months. All forums do for me is start to think about doing something different because all you see is posts about winners, hell if I won 90% of the time like what is posted here I would have 100+ million in a few months, too bad I win about 55-60% of the time only.

I remember when on was on avidtrader in 2002 I watched someone post charts that made money, the problem is after he lost say 2-3 in a row that "system" did not work and he moved onto something else, it was funny because they all worked but he did not have the confidance to trade them and after a few losses it was onto something else. I say about 1000+ trades then you know if it works or not maybe more over several years, but if you don't know why you are taking the trades or fully understand what you are doing because you try to copy someone else well then you are never going to get that far and you are going to keep moving onto the latest greatest system.

Well EG have blown me.

From the past 2 months i was having a huge success and i was gaining confidence. But i didn't knew when this confidence was developed into
overconfidence.

So i saw the EG pin got in and was stoped out. When it reached .9000 i went short again and it kept on going up. Then i shorted again at 9024 and 9060. It kept on going up and up i was adding to my shorts. When it reached 9100 i said ok thats enough and i added a bit more and then it hit 9150. I made...
As I said before, your other side of the brain gets sick of you winning and wants you to use it, it's true too. self sabotage is huge and that is why when I said that trading changed my way of life, this of it like office space when he was put under that spell and he does not care anymore, that is me 100%. I am always happy and have a smile on my face because I can now control what I want to do and not just in the market. This is the area I got stick in for a while, I was losing a lot with bad stops or whatever then said screw it if I lose so much I will just do the opposite, well I lose some more lol. You think it's hard in demo try it with a large account, it can be done and is done everyday but you just have to know 100% that you are NOT going to trade off of emotion and that is what you did. If I even have a bad day or something is off and I say screw it I am just going to take this trade, I stop myself and call it a day because I know if I start going in like that it will be a VERY bad day.

Now when I trade I don't hope for money I know I am going to make money and I know I deserve it and me and this market "the rabbit" are going to have a damn good time doing it.

Yep just like the "I want to lose 10 pounds" deal, everyone knows to eat less, 3500 cals = 1 pound right? They start out good then they slip a little then say screw it and hit the all you can eat place LOL. Trading is the SAME way, it's sticking to the plan and not hitting that buffet.

Be like that guy in office space and enjoy your millions. I have good friends that tell me I am just like that guy before that movie even came out. The only downfall to it is with the females, sometimes they feel your don't have enough emotion because if you don't go crazy when they do they feel you don't care LOL

lol, think about this. If something is going to happen that you can not control, why worry about it? But just like the market, I dont' ever have a bull / bear tone and most times I don't even know what the dow or eur/usd are at and I trade them daily, all I care about is what way that chart is going because everything else is just fluff to me.

Yep that is true, I bet 90% of the people think in yesterday or tomorrow and what they are going to do but not many people think in the NOW what is going on and what they are doing. As I said this changed my life and they way I think about everything and it's fun talking about it because I am sure other are at some of the stages I was at in the past so they can relate. Not many people I know can talk about this kinda stuff without being the "strange" guy

2. while trade the M5. Do you see higher time frame to ensure the trend ?
since mostly I get confuse if I see M5 and H1 in the same time.

sorry if this is a repeating question.

Thanks,

Yep, yellow line = trend, I don't CT it unless I have a damn good reason so today it was all shorts and 1 long at the end, I could of took one more long but I was at the gym. Also I have a deal on the side of my chart but the long term trend does not keep me for jumping in, all it does it let me know that we have a correction in the long term and I will not be able to ride it out.

Here is a chart.

BRN = Big Round number. It is soemthing I have sort of termed in my own way of the round numbers every 500 pips. instead of regular round numbers.

As for the rest of the abbreviations here is off the top of my head.

PPZ = price pivot zone
BEOB = bearish outside bar
BUOB = bullish outisde bar
pin = pinbar
DBLHC = double low higher close
DBHLC = double high lower close
TBH = two bar high
TBL = two bar low
IB = inside bar
I4b = inside 4 bar
S/R =...

Get off that Meth Mike! lol, wtf why don't you ever sleep?

In this situation you keep open a sell position ?

Thanks,

You are going to lose on a trend chage and I think I got stopped on 1 trade when it hit the yellow line, then it went above it and I wanted to get long and I did, 2% risk 4% gain. Had 1 more long that I missed because of the gym.

I have been doing a lot of that lately.

A combination of day job, work and more work has made me miss the few set-ups I otherwise would have taken so far this week.

Now, I don't thinks its necessary a bad thing as one of my recs from last week was to mitigate over trading.....

you know, as they say; its better to be out wishing you were in than to be in wishing you were out.

Okay want me to tell you what you are going to do next? Because you want to trade and feel you have missed some good trades now you are putting pressure on yourself to trade and just like a drunk guy at a strip club you are going to jump on the 1st "thing" you see and it's not going to end well.

lol, I can tell you what I do but it's a 99% chance you will screw it up that is why I am not going to post it. Every setup is different and I look at the whole picture when I trade. I am not trying to be a ass but I can say I do this and this then you do it lose and call me a ass so it's just not worth it. Just a FYI I have a loss daily sometimes several so it's just part of it and taking the good trades that I see them, I wish I could say do this and this and enjoy your millions but it's not going to work like that.

No, you are trying to make it FIT something and that's not how to trade, stop thinking so hard lol. The thing is going up so get long on pullbacks that is all, I know I think and can mentaly draw trendlines, and fibs w/o putting them on the charts that is how I can spend 10 seconds and know what I would do w/o any guesses.

Print out this chart, and find any 6 year old kid and ask him up or down. That's how I trade.

Open the pair, put it to 5min, higher highs and lower lows = trend = up. Not too hard.

If you want to be a hero, just start your own thread and teach what you do, as on this site, we share, not brag with no proof whatsoever..

Don't want to be a hero never posted how much I have because it does not matter. I think someone else started something on how I trade Jackoo or something I think it's about 200 pages. Was just throwing stuff out to other helping with emotion / trend stuff. Also I have posted a lot of charts and my trades real-time if you go back but don't worry about it, reading my stuff is a waste of time.

Again, not having a pop, just trying to get through one trade to the next myself!...
I will never setup a site to teach people because it takes too much time to do it right, I think the J16 site is great and I have been a member in the past. But as you know if you do trade for a living then you know more people will fail at this it's just how it goes, if you think I am full or crap that is fine as I think you are full of it too because the 6 posts you have are all bashing people I posted screen prints of my live account to show my trades but it always seems that the losers that can not trade go nuts and want to bash everyone else. I just like to help that is all, I never asked for money or anything in return it's just something I do.
