Maybe I'm odd, but when someone says that I can't do something it motivates me like nothing else. I'm not certain that I am comfortable with this. Back in late 2007 I was frustrated with the pace of growth that I was experiencing with my contracting business. I was even more frustrated with the work ethic of the help that I could find. We had a great business with many customers but I was killing myself trying to keep up with the pace of business and the constant turnover of hired help. When I decided to study day trading and later settled on Forex, I mentioned to my accountant who I respect as a very astute business owner and intelligent man that I wanted to trade the spot currency market as a business. I witnessed something that moment which
caught me offguard and crushed me for about a half hour. My accountant who had always been so respectful and professional looked at me with a condecending smirk and said "Well good luck with that little endeavor." I may have taken this wrong but his statemet might as well have been "Roger, I don't think that you have the intellectual capacity to operate a snow cone stand." I have always been a most optimistic sort. I also have very few doubts about my abilities. I'm not the brightest or most articulate guy that you will meet. Average in so many ways am I but that day at that very moment I started a journey that revealed to me that it is a perverse wisdom in being true to yourself. Refusing to allow someone at any given time to steal your dream with a statement that slices you through to your core only because there is an ugly part of yourself exposed for an instant that agrees with what was just said. Believing and I mean REALLY believing in yourself gives you the stamina to take on all opposition to fulfillment of your vision of your future success. It will give you confidence that does not come off as arrogance. It will invalidate obstructions and keep you on task. What surprised me was that once I made the decision to prove "them" wrong, I found that even before I was trading for my livelyhood, I felt that each decision that I made concerning "my business" was extremely important to my future. Yes I was trading to make 112 dollars here and 189 dollars there. I found that people around me started to buy into my idea of my new career. It is because it is easier to believe in a determined man. Early on, (30 minutes after I left his office)it became my highest priority to follow through and accomplish what I had stated that I would acheive to my accountant. With all due respect, without satire or sarcasm, I appreciate what he did for me that day.

Haha! Of course I do. He gets to see the results of that fateful day. He is my "Ace in the hole" as we say down here in Texas. I have a few more seemingly impossible statements to make to him over the next few years. Here are some that I'll be laying on him in due course. In no particular order but equally as challenging for me as "I want to trade the spot currency market as a profitable business":
1. I want to have the intellect of Bemac.
2. I want to posses the patience of Bundyraider.
3. I want to be as picky as Fudd.
4. I want to be wise beyond my years like Mike W.
5. I want to be able to present charts as well as Dan Gilbert.
6. I want an my trading account to be at least one tenth the size of Dirt Simple's in the next five years.
7. I want to be as introspective as Seeking Light.
8. I want to see the future of price like Rac.
9. I want to be as articulate and insightful as Aaron.
10. I want to be as discerning as Jaroo.
Paying taxes for me is now bittersweet. It used to be something that I would 100% dread. I know that this is wrong and Lord forgive me but I'm just human. Mr. Accountant understands that I have this tiger by the tail now. There is a part of me that feels satisfaction in knowing that he witnessed this. Now with all this said, do I think for a second that I've "made it"? Honesty requires that I say "no" to that question. I have done exceedingly well since I started my business Nov 10th 2009. I have the right equipment (battery back-ups, broker ph #'s two separate internet connections through different providers, laptop on standby etc etc...) I will do my family a horrible disservice to rest on the success I have had since Nov 10th 2009. My forex trading business experience is weak. I harken back to my years at home as a boy. I can still hear what my dad would tell me when I would get early confidence on a matter. He
would say "boy! you are still shittin' yellow". The translation for those who don't understand in other countries is "It's just too early for you to really know." Every day is a new one. Every day is one that I could do something stupid. I posted two losing trades this past week in my journal. Grateful for the losses am I. They show me that I am still learning. They show me to trade what I understand and demo what I do not. I promise myself that I will rise daily and tell myself that I am doing well but I have a long, long way to go. What I believe gets me to the next lesson. What I know is just this side of nothing.

Second one was my brother in law who is himself a stock trader and doesn't believes in TA. Well he simply laughed at me ( like all of them).
Third one was the chartist in my company he would often tell me " LISTEN BOY IT TOOK ME 15...
It's ironic isn't it? The very ones trying to tear you down are helping to steel your resolve.

Default EURJPY

All is quiet on the chart thread this morning. Are we waiting for the market to open in New York? I'll post a chart of what I am looking at in the meanwhile. I am looking to short EURJPY. I know that I could buyright now but I'll wait as the trend is down and I'd just rather sell if price tells me I can. It's been a good day already. I hope that everyone is having a good day as well.
